Principal's Report

Dear Families,

What a start to our Colour Fun Run, over $10,000 so far towards our $20,000 goal.

We look forward to hosting the Fun Run on Friday 29th October at 2pm. More information will be forwarded next term.

As we look back on Term 3, we begin to realise how many exciting events happen in our school on top of our daily routines. Some of these have included: Sports Day,  School Soccer, Cross Country, Book Week, Science Week, AFL Max camp, Reception excursion to the zoo, year 6/7 Girls Football- Crows Cup, SAPSASA events including Basketball, Hockey, Soccer, AFL and Athletics.

Thank you to all the staff and parent volunteers that have supported our programs throughout the term.

Staffing Information

Toni Zuanic will be taking maternity leave at the end of week 1 in Term 4 and Fiona Prentice will return from leave and will continue the learning program in room 14. We wish Toni all the best with the rest of her pregnancy and beyond.

Miss Brittany McKay will continue in the Room 18 Year 6/7 class until the end of the year.
Jess Searle will return as AET for Term 4 whilst Victoria is on LSL.

Staffing Recognition

Congratulations to Kate McGee - 10 Year service milestone award, Leah Koen – 20 Year service milestone award and Helen Biar – 40 Year service milestone award. Thank you to your contribution to education.

NAPLAN Results

NAPLAN reports have been distributed to all families of students who participated in NAPLAN this year.

NAPLAN is a snap shot of your child’s achievements in comparison to other students of the same year level in Australia.

NAPLAN is just one measure of your child’s performance. Le Fevre Peninsula Primary School uses various tests or measures of achievement in the areas of literacy and numeracy. The results of these assist in providing learning programmes for students and are reported to parents through our written reports in Terms 2 and 4.

Should you wish to discuss your child’s NAPLAN results, please contact your child’s teacher to arrange a meeting time.

Staff will analyse the results early next term.

Class Placements 2022

Currently, we are looking at numbers of children for 2022 so that we can begin the class placement process. It would help our planning if you know of any changes for next year (eg if you are moving etc and not planning on returning to Le Fevre Peninsula Primary School) if you could let the front office know as soon as possible.

Also, if you know of any families considering enrolling at Le Fevre Peninsula Primary School for next year, could you please let them know to contact us at their earliest convenience.

Finally, if you have any specific requests for the placement of your child, (friendships etc) please put them in writing to me using the note recently sent home.

Please note that while requests are taken into consideration, there are no guarantees that they can be acted upon.

Thank you for your support.

Thank you for your on-going support.

Uniform

It’s fantastic to see our students in school uniform, in particular our school shirts and jumpers.

However the dress code identifies that students should wear navy blue pants/shorts, etc. Acrylic nails are not permitted.

A friendly reminder that hats are a requirement in Term 4. If your child requires a new school hat you can purchase these from the front office.

Outstanding Achievement Awards – Term 3

At the end of each term, two students from each class are nominated by their teacher to receive the Principal’s Outstanding Achievement Award based on our values of Respect, Responsibility and Effort. The winners can be found in this newsletter.
