Wellbeing Leader Update
G’Day, LPPS community.
What a term so far!
As we lead into Easter I wanted to give you a few updates of what is happening, ‘Wellbeing’ Wise.
We are finalising our numbers for Children’s University this week and we are pleased to have some new students join this international program that fosters and affirms ‘lifelong learning’.
I will be meeting with them soon and know some are already collecting their hours in their learning passports.
In the last 2 weeks we had a class by class focus on the ‘National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence’ as well as celebrating Harmony Week. The students have been focusing on getting along with each other, inclusion, being kind and making promises to create a safe emotional and physical community for everyone. We took a photo in a ‘Harmony Photo Frame’, of each class and then had them combined into a large eye-catching banner. It looks fabulous and as with last years’ banner we plan to erect it on one of the gym walls to create an ongoing theme of our school stands for harmony, and against bullying each and every day.

We are committed as a school to practising ‘Interoception’ in every one of our learning spaces every day and the students are learning about their body’s signals through the different activities that are chosen.
Our school has chosen to create a safe and powerful learning culture through teaching the ‘You Can Do It’ framework every week to every class. This exceptional and cognitively based social emotional program really assists the students in challenging any negative mindsets and replacing them with positive, empowering ones. This along with the Berry Street Educational Model approach of ‘Morning Circles’ and ‘Ready to Learn’ processes are proving to be very beneficial to our community’s emotional and therefore educational health.
Breakfast Club continues to be offered every school day through the tireless efforts of Wendy and Dot who volunteer their time to make sure many of our children have a full stomach to start the day.
Let’s me finish by wishing everyone a safe Easter Break and may your family traditions and or celebrations be special.
Till next time,
Bronte
