Principal's Report
Dear Families,
Welcome to our final newsletter for the term. It’s been an extremely busy term. Thank you for the support that we continue to receive from our community. LPPS has continued to provide lots of opportunities for our students and we look forward to the second half of the year.
Week 10 has been a great way to conclude the term, with the year 5/6 class excursion to the Migration Museum, NAIDOC Week in the Mall excursion, NAIDOC Week assembly and the smoking ceremony and a performance for our year 1’s by Patch Theatre Company.
I also had the pleasure of attending the Shark Cup baseball tournament held at Seaton High on Wednesday. Le Fevre Peninsula PS had the highest participation of all schools and entered 3 teams. The students were outstanding in both effort and attitude. This carnival was a culmination of 6 weeks of training with students from the Seaton HS Baseball programme. The new sports uniform looked fantastic and our students were very proud to wear the tops. Special thanks to 'Fletcher’s Slip' who sponsored our new tops.
Reminder, the first day of Term 3 is a student free day!
COVID 19 Update
We have been very fortunate to have not been overly impacted by COVID during Term 2. Whilst we have had a few staff who have had COVID (including myself), most day to day learning activities have continued as normal. At times we have been required to join classes or cancel NIT lessons due to the lack of availability of relief teachers, however both staff and students have been very understanding. Thank you to the families who have been vigilant with keeping sick students home.
Outstanding Achievement Awards – Term 2
At the end of each term, two students from each class are nominated by their teacher to receive the Principal’s Outstanding Values Award. Each student was presented with a certificate at today's assembly.
Congratulations to all of them on such a successful term.
