Premier's Reading Challenge/STEM Competition
This year the Premier’s Reading Challenge and partners teamed up to challenge students to read about Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) in the lead up to National Science Week. Our school participated in the reading and design competition with a total of 124 entries across this school!
Rec- Year 2 (Create) – Draw a picture in response to the book ‘Bear in Space’.
Year 3-5 (Invent) - Plan an invention (description, drawing) inspired by the book read.
Year 6 (Design) - Design a STEM poster related to the book read to inspire interest in science related fields.
We had so many fantastic entries across the school, it was amazing to see.
A big congratulations to Maya who came runner up in the year 3-5 age group with her invention! We were fortunate to have Mark Williams, the manager of the Premier's Reading Challenge to present Maya with her prize at our week 6 assembly.
We look forward to participating again next year!
