Year 3 AFL MAX Camp
In Week 7, the Year 3 students from Rooms 3 and 4 had the exciting opportunity to spend a night away at AFL MAX. Joined by Kate, Peter, Jeanette and Bayden, the students were guided by the fantastic AFL MAX coaches who kept the camp fun, active and inspiring.
The camp was designed to encourage healthy lifestyles through four “quarters” of activities. In Healthy Body, students tackled fitness challenges that got everyone moving and smiling. Healthy Food gave them the chance to explore nutritious eating in creative and problem-solving ways. Healthy Team saw the children building connections through games and competitions, while Healthy Mind introduced calming strategies such as Box Breathing to help regulate emotions.
Of course, there was also plenty of time for fun on the trampolines, ninja warrior course, inflatable zones, and footy kicks. The highlight of the evening was a screening of Wall-E after a shared dinner, before everyone settled in on their sleeping mats for a night together.
After a healthy breakfast the following morning, the group finished their final activities before returning to school with tired bodies, happy faces, and lots of stories to share. The camp was a wonderful mix of learning, teamwork, and adventure, and will no doubt be remembered as a highlight of the year.
