Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
What an amazing Sports Day last week.
Congratulations to the Yellow team on winning our Sports Day.
Thank you to all of the team captains who did an amazing job organising the team chants and the warm up routines. I was impressed with their organisation and enthusiasm.
The students were fantastic all day, demonstrating teamwork, individual excellence and being good sports.
Thanks to Miss Amanda, Miss Leah and the Sports day committee who coordinated the event. Thanks to the teachers and SSO’s who supervised and made the day so successful.
Miss Leah and the Parent group added a splash of colour to the day by selling sports team coloured accessories and the year 6’s managed a successful bake sale.
Final scores: Blue 1036 points, Red 1054 points and the winning team, Yellow on 1134 points
Building Upgrade
It is great to see the upgrade to building 3 has now been mostly completed. We are waiting on the certificate to use the lift and some minor defects are to be fixed.
Thank you to everyone who has been so accommodating throughout the last 10 months, especially the students and staff who have worked in different locations throughout the school.
We are so happy with the outcome. We are expecting that there will be an official opening in the near future.
2026 Classes
At the moment, we are beginning to look at numbers of children for 2026 so that we can begin the class placement process. It would help our planning if you know of any changes for next year (eg if you are moving etc. and not planning on returning to Le Fevre Peninsula Primary School) if you could let the front office know as soon as possible.
Also, if you know of any families considering enrolling at Le Fevre Peninsula Primary School for next year, could you please let them know to contact us at their earliest convenience.
Finally, if you have any specific requests for the placement of your child, (friendships etc) please put them in writing to me no later than Friday 17th October (Term 4, Week 1) using the note which was recently sent home with students or you can email me directly bob.bowden832@schools.sa.edu.au.
Please note that while requests are taken into consideration, there are no guarantees that they can be acted upon.
Thank you for your support.
Playgrounds
We love the fact that our playgrounds are used by the public after school hours. It is however important to know that the playground behind the gym is out of bounds before school. We are on duty from 8:30am in the yard but that does not extend to the playground. Any student who uses the playground after school should also be supervised by their own parents/caregivers.
Students waiting to be picked up should have a designated area arranged by family to meet in the school yard.
Sports News
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all those children that have been involved in weekend sports finals. It is a rare opportunity that we get to play in finals and is something they will remember for a long time.
Congratulations to Khloe and Jessica who have been selected in the Port SAPSASA Girls Football team who will participate in the State Championships 27th – 29th October.
Last Day of Term
With the end of term rapidly approaching, a reminder that we finish at 2.00pm on Friday 26th September.
Term 4 will resume on Monday 13th October.
Kind Regards
Bob
