During term 2 and 3 we have had over 40 students represent our school in the North West Junior Soccer Association (NWJSA).  This year we registered 5 teams ranging from Under 6s through to Under 11s.  We were very lucky to have 5 parents and grandparents put up their hand to take on a coaching role, as without them, none of this would have happened.  It has been such a big commitment from our coaches, having to run weekly trainings, communicate information to families and then show up every Saturday, rain, hail or shine, to lead the teams on game day.  On behalf of the students, families and wider school community, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to Carmel, Paul, Angela, Brendan and Phoebe for all of their hard work and dedication throughout the season.  At different times throughout the season, all of the coaches have chatted to me about how far the students have come with their skill level and knowledge of the game.

I also want to share how proud I was to read the NWJSA ‘Season Wrap Up’ document that shared highlights of the season.  The Association give a ‘Ron Baker Fair Play Award’ that recognises the behaviour and values of a school, that align with the NWJSA core values of fun, participation, teamwork and sportsmanship.  Referees award points to teams after each game based on their observations.  In the ‘Season Wrap Up’ it stated that Le Fevre PS came 2^nd overall in this area.  This is something that our coaches and students should be very proud of – well done!
