Delicious Math Learning in Room 10!

This term, Room 10 has been having lots of fun learning about equal groups and sharing in Math!

We have been using hands-on materials to practice making equal groups and learning how to share things fairly so that everyone gets the same amount.

One of our favourite activities was reading the story The Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchins. We loved acting out the story and pretending to share cookies as more and more visitors arrived at the house. Each time the doorbell rang, we had to work out how to share the cookies equally so that nobody missed out!

Of course, the highlight was getting to share some real cookies! We carefully counted them out, checked that everyone had an equal amount and then enjoyed gobbling them all up!

There were lots of smiles, counting and problem-solving along the way. Who knew Math could be so much fun and so yummy! 🍪
