Dear Families,
The Term planner has been sent home to all families with really important dates for the term ahead.
It’s going to be a busy term with a host of activities.
On Wednesday I had the pleasure to call into the year 6 Aquatics Day at West Lakes. Year 6 students have been involved in this program for many years, and it remains one of the favourite days of the year. Feedback from the supervisors was that our students had a fabulous day and were very well behaved and supportive of each other.
Yesterday we had our Performance Choir and Little Stars Choir perform after school to a large group of parents. How amazing are our choirs? Miss Emily has created an environment for our students to shine. Performing to various groups has been a highlight of the year and I love the passion and dedication from this group of students. We hope that you enjoyed the performance yesterday.
Celebrating World Teachers’ Day
World Teachers’ Day is a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate the dedication, care and professionalism of teachers in our school and across the world.
Every day, teachers make a lasting difference in the lives of children and young people. They inspire curiosity, encourage resilience, and help students grow academically, socially and emotionally. Their work extends far beyond the classroom, with countless hours spent planning engaging learning experiences, supporting individual student needs, building positive relationships with families, and contributing to the wider school community.
At Le Fevre Peninsula Primary School, we are grateful for the commitment our teachers show each day. They create safe, inclusive and supportive learning environments where every child is encouraged to achieve their personal best. Through their passion, patience and expertise, shaping confident learners.
World Teachers’ Day also reminds us of the importance of valuing the teaching profession and acknowledging the vital role teachers play in building strong communities and a brighter future. The impact of a great teacher can last a lifetime, and many of us can recall a teacher who encouraged us, believed in us, or helped us see new possibilities.
On this special day, we thank all teachers for their hard work, dedication and unwavering commitment to education. Your efforts are seen, appreciated and deeply valued.
To all of our teachers: thank you for the difference you make every day.
School procedures
If your child is required to be picked up early on any day, please come to the front office where our staff will ensure that your child will meet you. Please do not collect your child from the classroom. All students must be signed out by the parent/caregiver or with appropriate permission. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask our friendly office staff.
We are committed to positive and productive relationships with all community members at Le Fevre Peninsula PS. Parent/caregivers should report any concerns that may occur as soon as possible. We have clear expectations for student behaviour and thoroughly follow up all issues raised by students or their families. Please do not approach students directly to discuss behaviours or raise concerns with them.
Class Placements 2027
We are working on the assumption that we will have 10 classes next year plus the Inclusive Education class, based on predicted enrolment.
However, I need to point out that this could change as late as the first day back next year, based on new enrolments or students leaving the school.
The placement process is a very complex and time consuming one. Our aim is to achieve the best possible mix of students in both straight and composite classes. Whilst we like to have children with friends where we can, it is also beneficial for children to mix with new groups of students from year to year.
Your child/ren’s class placement information will be sent home during the last week of term. While we do our best to have all teachers placed by this time, it is not always possible and while your child may know their room number, they may not necessarily know their teacher. I apologise in advance if this is the case.
Thank you to those families that have put any requests in writing.
As we continue to finalise classes for 2027, if your circumstances have changed and you are intending to enrol in another school, please contact us.
Reception Transition Visits
Our new Receptions for 2027 will commence their first of three transition visits next week.
I would like to welcome them and their families to Le Fevre Peninsula Primary School.
